
Relief Technician (Theatre)

UWCSEA Dover is looking for a Relief Technician to start as soon as possible.
The primary purpose and function of this role is to provide technical and design support to events, with a specific focus on sound and projection design. These events include Drama productions, Primary Arts Festivals, GC and other events as determined by the Head of Drama.
Main Responsibilities
- Operate lighting and sound equipment during rehearsal and performances.
- Execute cues accurately and promptly as required.
- Collaborate with the production team to ensure seamless transition during shows.
- Conduct regular maintenance and troubleshooting of technical equipment,
- Assist with stage changes and stage management as needed.
- Maintain and manage the College’s theatre resources, equipment and inventory, including maintenance of stores
Person Specifications
- Experience in theatre production with a strong understanding of running of stage cues.
- Proficient in operating lighting and sound systems would be a bonus, training will be provided.
- Ability to work under pressure and in a fast pace environment..
- Ability to work with appropriate document and spreadsheet software to effectively coordinate and plan is essential
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Experience working with young people is a distinct advantage
- Enthusiasm for working with young people is essential
