UWCSEA Dover Campus is looking for a freelance Activities Supervision Assistant to join the Sports & Activities Team.

The freelance Activities Supervision Assistant role, provides services to the Activities Department Dover, entails supervision of afterschool activities students within the classroom environment. The activities supervision assistant at UWCSEA is critical to the student's wellbeing and safety, ensuring that they are supervised at all times. The language of the workplace and the language of instruction is English.

As part of the activities supervision role, you are required to commit a minimum of 2 hours per day, 3 to 5 days per week, between 1:00 PM and 6:00 PM. Your specific shifts will be determined by the finalised schedule provided.

Rate: $20 per hr

Main Responsibilities

Service Description:

  • Ensure that students are safe on the premises at all times and that attendance is taken during each session.
  • To help create an interesting and lively classroom environment that encourages independent learning.
  • Conduct themselves in accordance with the school's policies, guidelines, framework, and philosophy.
  • Collaboration with other staff within the activities department is essential.
  • To guide and manage students using positive discipline techniques.
  • Positively and proactively deliver targeted support to students with diverse learning profiles within the classroom environment and other school settings. Work with the students individually or in a small group setting
  • Maintain confidentiality at all times in respect of individual/family circumstances.
  • Any other administrative duties as assigned.

Person Specifications

  • Qualification in relevant fields of study (e.g. Learning Support, Special Education) is highly desirable
  • At least 2 years of relevant experience in a similar capacity is highly desirable
  • Experience working with students is essential and experience working with students with additional needs would be advantageous.
  • Good communication and classroom management abilities
  • Enthusiastic, energetic, and nurturing, with a strong ability to interact with students
  • Positive interpersonal skills and the ability to lead a class independently are required
  • Must be passionate about working with chil dren, reliable, and flexible.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.. Able to work cohesively in a team based environment as well as independently.
  • Ability to both work on own initiative and follow directions from others
  • Proficient with technology including Google platforms, Gmail and Google calendar and a working knowledge of Mac.
