Overall Job Responsibility
To shape and execute communication strategies that amplify the organisation’s mission and impact; lead stakeholder communications, manage media relations, craft compelling narratives, as well as provide expert communications advice to internal business units.
Duties and Responsibilities
Stakeholder Communications
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including persons with disabilities and their caregivers, government agencies, corporate partners, community organisations
- Plan and execute communication strategies to effectively engage stakeholders and promote SG Enable’s initiatives
- Ensure consistent messaging across all stakeholder communications platforms
Media Relations
- Build and manage relationships with media outlets, journalists, and influencers to increase visibility and positive coverage of SG Enable’s programs and initiatives
- Oversee the management of communications and public relations agency in the development and dissemination of press releases, media statements, and responses to media inquiries
- Analyse media coverage from available media monitoring reports to inform communication strategies
Content Development
- Write and edit high-quality press releases, speeches, newsletters, and other communication materials including, but not limited to, collaterals produced for and by internal Business Units and social media posts for SG Enable’s platforms
- Collaborate with internal teams to develop engaging content for various platforms, including digital, print, and social media
Internal Communications and Advice
- Provide strategic communications advice and support to internal business units to align messaging with organisational goals
- Develop internal communication tools and materials to enhance staff engagement and awareness of SG Enable’s initiatives
Crisis Communication
- Lead crisis communication efforts, including the preparation of holding statements and coordination of responses during sensitive situations
- Ensure readiness with updated crisis communication plans and protocols
Team Leadership and Collaboration
- Manage and mentor junior team members to foster growth and professional development
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver impactful and integrated communication campaigns
Qualifications, Knowledge and Experience
- A bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or a related field
- At least 5 to 8 years of relevant experience in corporate communications, media relations, or public relations and/or journalism
- Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills, with a proven ability to craft clear and impactful messages
- Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills
- Strong project management and organisational abilities, with the capability to handle multiple priorities
- Experience in crisis communications is an advantage
- Knowledge of the disability sector is an advantage
