Overview*
Reporting to the Nurse Managers of the Endoscopy Centre, you are responsible for the setting up, performing functional checks and maintaining proper documentation on all Endoscopy Diagnostic and Audio-Visual Equipment.
Job Responsibilities*
You will be responsible for the following:
- Ensure Endoscopic equipment are checked prior usage
- Perform set up and functional checks of all Endoscopy Diagnostic Equipment
- Ensure cleanliness and working condition of the suction and diathermy machines.
- Perform functional checks on the Endoscopic Camera System and console to ensure it is in good working condition.
- Maintains integrity of sterile instruments and scopes for use on Endoscopy patients.
- Equipment Troubleshooting and Commissioning
- Ascertain and troubleshoot any equipment malfunctions, failure, and technical difficulties.
- Provide necessary technical support during equipment failures and collaborates with Biomedical Engineer of NUH for any technical problems needing further attention.
- Coordinate and liaise with the Biomedical Engineer of NUH for the installations and commissioning of new Endoscopy Diagnostic Equipment and / or equipment for trial.
- Follow up on all repairs and schedule preventive maintenance services on Endoscopy Diagnostic Equipment carried out by the Biomedical Engineer Division, NUH or its vendors.
- General IT Troubleshooting
- Provide generic IT support to resolve hardware issues eg. printer, AIO, network, etc.
- Provide administrative support in relation to medical equipment
- Update and maintain records of all Biomedical Equipment kept in the Endoscopic Suite
- Maintain proper and accurate records in preparation of any impending surveillances from auditors or any relevant authorities.
- Management of scope inventory and tracking repair and scope breakdown status.
- Maintain proper and accurate records of scope usage for all the Endoscopic Suites
- Participate in in-service programs, group discussions and meetings.
- Carry out pre-purchase evaluation together with Clinician, Nurse Manager / Nurse Clinician and Ops Manager before purchasing decision is made.
- Assist the Nurse Manager / Nurse Clinician during audit rounding.
- Manage data storage and backup solution to ensure data security and disaster recovery.
- Maintain and assist the Nurse Manager / Nurse Clinician in the proper care of Endoscopy Diagnostic Equipment
- Provide guidance together with Biomedical Engineers to Nursing and Clinicians on the handling of medical equipment and scopes.
- Perform any other duties / ad-hoc projects as assigned by Reporting Officer
- Performs any other duties as assigned by Reporting Officer.
Requirements*
Qualification Required and Area of Discipline
- A Higher NITEC / Diploma in any Biomedical Engineering related courses.
Required Competencies and Capabilities (Skills, Experiences and Professional Licenses) Experience
- A minimum 2-year of technical working experience in any Biomedical Engineering fields is preferable.
