Summary

The objective of the position is to design, implement, run & maintain, and support the data Architecture as well as the organisation’s Business Intelligence systems.


What you'll do

The holder of the position is mainly responsible for the following areas in coordination with his / her superior:
  • Designing, building and maintaining Business intelligence systems including integration with databases and data warehousing
  • Design and build the DWH database models (star schema).
  • Manage the semantic model in Oracle Analytics Cloud to provide a unified view of our organization's data.
  • Manage application roles and access rights for end users including row level security filters, to protect sensitive data.
  • Work with ETL specialists, IT business Consulting as well as external vendors to ensure data ingestion and integration into the database model.
  • Collaborate with Business Controlling and business counterparts on new reporting requirements.
  • Ensure data quality, security and compliance with industry standards and internal guidelines.
  • Ensure proper documentation of data infrastructure, data models, workflows as well as security concepts in accordance with internal security policies.
  • Working with business stakeholders in the analysis and collection of business reporting requirements and understanding their needs
  • Building and managing the data models for BI dashboards and work closely with Controlling team to ensure the data models fulfil reporting requirements.
  • Perform Status- and Performance monitoring of the BI & analytics platforms and underlaying Data Lake/Data warehouse systems.
  • Perform regular system maintenance and updates to existing BI solutions to enhance functionality and incorporate new data sources or analytics capabilities as well as ensure compliance with internal technical guidelines and information security policies.
  • Provide 2nd level support for BI & Analytics front end tools and reporting issues.


What you'll need

  • 5+ years of experience as a BI developer / Data Engineer in an enterprise environment with hands-on on Database modelling. Currently in Oracle environment and going forward with GCP stack.
  • Proficiency in SQL and data warehousing
  • Proficiency in designing and developing scalable data pipelines using GCP services like Cloud Dataflow, Apache Beam, and Cloud Dataprep
  • Experience with GCP storage solutions such as BigQuery, Cloud Storage, and Cloud Spanner. Ability to design and optimize data models, schemas, and tables for efficient data storage and retrieval.
  • Ensuring data quality and integrity through data validation, cleansing, and enrichment processes
  • Strong understanding of data modelling techniques and hands on experience building database models (star schema).
  • Expertise with ETL or ELT (extract, transform, load) processes. Familiarity with BI tool integration such as Tableau or Looker
  • Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving capability, and ability to translate business needs into technical specifications.
  • Customer-oriented with good communication and interpersonal skills.
