Assistant Manager, Commercial (Modules)
Position Summary
Responsible in preparation of all commercial aspects of Onshore and Offshore Modules Construction Projects tendering, which includes but not limited to Costing, Pricing, Tender Proposal and Prequalification, by coordinating with all relevant departments to collate the correct inputs necessary to prepare a compelling commercial and technical tender proposal for submission, with primary objective to achieve successful project awards.
Task and Responsibilities
Project Prequalification
Review Pre-qualifications documentation requirements and deliverables received from customers.
Work with all relevant departments in the Company to collate the necessary supporting documents for Prequalification.
Prepare client’s prequalification questionnaire and supporting documents for submission.
Review the Prequalification response with AGM Commercial and Senior Management.
Submit deliverable either via client’s portal or email.
Monitor and ensure various deadlines by customer are strictly adhered to.
Project Tendering
Compile and review customer enquiries, tenders and/ or RFQs and provide a scope summary to McPEC Management to review for bid decision.
Check sanction risk from company portal and credit risk of client company from company Risk and Compliance Team.
When bid decision is to proceed, determine the required tender deliverables and coordinate and work will all relevant departments to collate tender inputs for proposal preparations.
Review the technical specifications/ requirements/ engineering drawings and prepare commercial proposal/ bid for submission through coordination with various stakeholder in the yard. Collate all clarifications and send to client and follow up for response and advise.
Compile all inputs from relevant departments for submission based on client’s requirement on tender deliverables.
Tender Costing & Pricing
Monitor and ensure various deadlines by customer are strictly adhered to.
Prepare costing and pricing using the established excel templates with supporting suppliers and subcontractor cost for substantiation.
Prepare tender qualifications and exceptions in accordance with the basis of the costing estimates.
Collate all material cost received from suppliers and labour cost from subcontractors in the respective disciplines folders, for further reference, price revalidations and project handover after tender award.
Review the commercial and tender proposal with AGM commercial when the preparation is completed and incorporate all comments received from AGM Commercial after the review.
Prior Submission and Post Submission
Invite Senior Management for Tender review to get approval for tender submission.
Upon approval for submission, prepare the clean copy of commercial and technical tender proposal, including cover letter for submission.
Follow up with Clients for tender status and feedback on the submitted proposal. Response to all clients clarifications.
Upon project award, prepare presentation highlighting scope of work, technical, commercial and contractual information of the project for commercial handover meeting.
Post Project Award
Maintain and cultivate good relationship with existing and potential associates/customers through regular communication.
Provide advice to Project Managers on any potential variation orders.
At least 5-8 years of relevant industry experience including a minimum of 3 years in commercial roles and in addition, preferably also with experience in technical or commercial aspects in FPSO projects or module construction and project management.
Able to read, interpret and prepare applicable technical / commercial information including proposal, Engineering Drawings and suggest process changes to ensure functional and cost-effective results.
Diploma or Degree in Engineering from reputable institution.
Possess outstanding communication and presentation skills.
Able to travel internationally for project needs and short-term assignments.
Able to collaborate seamlessly across boundaries and international cultures.
