What The Role Is
Strategy Group leads and organises the Public Service to develop and implement the Government’s strategic priorities. As part of the Strategy Group, the Economy & Sustainability (E&S) Directorate works with other public agencies to develop strategies that address Singapore’s key policy challenges in both the economic domain, and the nexus between the economy and sustainability.
What You Will Be Working On
The officer will be expected to:

As part of the Strategy Group, the Economy & Sustainability (E&S) Directorate works with other public agencies to develop strategies that address Singapore’s key policy challenges in both the economic domain, and the nexus between the economy and sustainability.
What You Will Be Working On
The officer will be expected to:
- Contribute to the development of Whole-of-Government (WOG) medium to long-term strategic priorities for the economic sector.
- Support the Director / DD to push agencies’ ambition in policy thinking, build consensus and align agencies’ work to WOG priorities.
- Support the progress of these strategic priorities through designing and establishing systems and structures for governance and progress assurance.
- Perform secretariat duties and support agenda setting for inter-agency and POH platforms (such as Economic Forum, Cabinet Subgroup, Cabinet Retreat) to advance WOG’s strategic priorities.
- Interact with a wide range of internal stakeholders, including Cabinet Ministers, Strategy Group’s senior management as well as colleagues in other agencies. The officer will work closely with agencies to influence and support their efforts to deliver the Government’s policy agenda.
- Strong critical thinking and synthesis skills, intellectual curiosity and a sense of imagination and creativity.
- Able to conduct open-ended, qualitative research on long-term issues. Comfortable working with and interpreting data.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and confident in engaging with a wide range of stakeholders; a team player prepared to take on different team roles as necessary, with strong influencing skills to work across organisational and hierarchical boundaries.
- Excellent writing and verbal communication skills.
- Public sector experience in a strategy or policy analysis role, and /or work experience in an economic or environmental sustainability portfolio would be an advantage.
