Job Responsibilities
Clinical
- Perform baseline clinical assessment of new cases.
- Assist Staff Nurse with clinical observation of clients and report their progress/findings to Staff Nurse in Charge.
- Assist to perform simple wound care management if required by the
- clients in day care.
- Provide safe, quality, appropriate care according to Day Care standards.
- Provide care following safety, infection control practices, hazardous material and waste policy and procedures.
- Document clinical data in the IT system accurately and in timely manner.
- Assist Doctor and Staff Nurse in performing procedures as indicated.
- Perform nursing procedures within the scope of an Enrolled Nurse.
- Monitoring of patients on symptoms management.
- Respect and protect clients’ rights and confidentiality.
- Attend continual education to update skills and knowledge on palliative nursing care.
Risk and Quality Management
- Comply with guidelines and safe practices in accordance with Organisation policy and nursing standards procedures.
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
- Maintain good hand hygiene and infection control standard practices.
- Report any incidents and near misses to Staff Nurse in charge.
- Participate in department and organisation quality improvement & research projects.
- Assist in monitoring of department key performance indicators.
- Recommend solutions or innovations to improve care.
Resource Management
- Demonstrate proper use and care of medical equipment.
- Assist in the monitoring of medical and surgical supplies utilisations.
- Assist in maintaining inventories and medical equipment maintenance.
Other Duties
- Participate in Dover Park Hospice activities/events when required.
- Take on any assignment as assigned by Staff Nurse in charge, Nurse Manager or Director of Nursing.
Job Requirement
- National Institute Technical Education (ITE): Certificate in Nursing Enrolled Nurse
- Valid practicing license with Singapore Nursing Board.
- Minimum 2 years in clinical experience and / or with palliative care setting experience.
- Compassion, positive attitude, flexibility, adaptability to new changes, customer service orientated.
- Able to work with multi-disciplinary team members.
- Good command of spoken and written English.
- Seeking Mandarin-speaking candidates who are required to serve Mandarin-speaking patients
- Competent in MS office applications.
