Job Responsibilities
Technical Competency
  • Ability to evaluate Mechanical performance from a system perspective, with a view to determine the required corrective and improvement action.
  • Knowledge on pumping and piping requirements in the implementation of maintenance programs & projects.
  • Plan & execute external contract works as assigned by immediate supervisor to ensure works are compliant with the required specifications and standards so as to meet objectives
  • Monitor the day-to-day work progress of all defect's rectification; identify any equipment defect, and review the corrective actions required immediately.
  • Lead in inspecting & taking over of new development and consolidating punch list & defects clearing process
  • Responsible for implementing and enforcing safe work practices based on the Risk Assessment
  • Creating, review & refine SOPs
  • Able to read & understand system schematics and layout drawings.
Functional Competency
  • Oversee the plumbing/sanitary, Pool and Water Feature system maintenance plan and the in-house team and contractors
  • Work closely and liaise with all departments & business units in Property on project and maintenance coordination to minimize disruption
  • Plan & execute the maintenance regime and ensure all jobs are correctly and properly achieved within standards & SOPs.
  • Conduct regular updates with facilities senior management, internal stakeholder & business unit on KPI & the overall outlook of the MECHANICAL
  • Conduct regular meetings and coordinate with the maintenance contractor to resolve and improve the service level of relevant systems.
  • Review resource, labor, and inventories including all essential equipment, tools, spares and supplies for the team and ensure that proper spares and supplies inventory are kept and updated regularly.
  • Ensure that all essential records of Mechanical maintenance, replacement, or rectification works are documented properly and stored
  • Conducting of performance appraisal of all team members under supervision
  • Manage & conduct Vendor performance review & provide a report together with appropriate recommendation to the senior management
  • Perform all duties in accordance with company policies and within the realm of the company vision, mission and values
  • Drive adherence to established safety standards and protocol for MECHANICAL implementation and maintenance
  • Project Management functions & skillsets, includes project set up, preparation of scope of work, resource & scheduling management
  • Perform ad-hoc tasks as required
  • 24/7 stand-by and attend to emergency call outs when required
  • Exhibit strong attention to details
Leadership Competency
  • Provide leadership, supervision & guidance to a team of 4 Mechanical System technicians
  • Planning, detailing, reviewing and assessing of manpower, materials, tools and equipment, special services required for the job
  • Take over responsibilities as and when the Manager is not available
  • Implement effective performance management practices within department in accordance with organizational policies and procedures
  • Provide, review & conduct training and orientation programs for Team Members
  • Enforce & implement all safety programs and training with regards to WSH
  • Development of Team members through capability development and coaching
  • Manage all team member relation’s development, issues and administer progressive discipline in accordance with MBS guidelines
    Review training programs for Team Members to ensure competency to carry out required work
    Creating a work environment that promotes teamwork, performance feedback, recognition, mutual respect and employee satisfaction;
Job Requirements
Education & Certification
  • Holding at least a diploma in Mechanical, Electrical or equivalent qualification.
  • Licensed Plumber and/or Water Efficiency Manager certification is an advantage
  • Have a good command of English
Experience
  • At least three to five years of solid hands-on practical working in any Integrated Resorts, Hotels, Conference and Exhibition Center and/or Shopping Mall providing Operations supports and maintenance of Mechanical plant and systems
  • Possess good understanding on the Mechanical systems consisting of Plumbing, Sanitary, Pool and Water features operation
  • Able to interpret Schematic and layout drawings
  • Computer knowledge of IBM Maximo System and Microsoft Office.
  • Understanding of local regulations, standards and ordinances on operations and maintenance of Mechanical systems
  • Have an intimate knowledge of all major systems; their operation and potential weaknesses
  • Preferably experience working outdoors and be exposed to various environmental factors such as, but not limited to fatigue, noise, dust, and be able to access all areas of the property including those at height

  • Possess good communication and interpersonal skills, with an eye for detail
  • Get along with fellow Team Members and work as a team
  • Must be able to cope and perform in fast paced environment
  • Can work with minimum supervision and at times independently, as well as under pressure.
  • Be willing to work any day of the week and long hours when necessary
  • Meet the attendance guidelines of the job and adhere to Departmental and Company policies
  • Have a well-groomed, professional appearance
