Role : Network Security Engineer

Job Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and proactive Infrastructure Security Engineer to oversee IT governance for network security and infrastructure health. This role involves monitoring and controlling tasks to ensure the reliability and efficiency of daily IT operations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for a wide range of activities, from network topology design to security management, providing both technical support and ensuring compliance with internal and external standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage IT governance related to network security and infrastructure health, ensuring smooth operations and reliable IT services in line with SLAs.
- Design, implement, validate, and document end-to-end processes for office network topologies, cabling connections, firewall policies, security configurations, server provisioning, backup processes, and asset management.
- Proactively monitor IT operations, deliverables, risks, incidents, and maintenance to ensure systems are performing optimally and meet required standards.
- Collaborate with Corporate IT and external vendors to provide technical support for infrastructure, network security appliances, servers, systems, email services, and hardware appliances.
- Continuously improve and implement security measures, including patches, firmware upgrades, OS hardening, and remediation of vulnerabilities for both Windows and Linux OS and major firewall brands.
- Provide hands-on operational support for Active Directory (AD), DNS, file servers, printers, conferencing systems, email, antivirus, Veeam backup, and SFTP services, with a focus on security implementation.
- Offer Level 2 IT support to end users both on-site and remotely, including standby support for outages.
- Handle and escalate system and application issues, troubleshooting and resolving both hardware and software technical problems.
- Conduct regular internal audits, reviewing IT compliance and policies to ensure adherence to security standards.
- Follow guidelines and standard operating procedures (SOPs) for backup administration tasks, including account creation, termination, and changes with proper documentation.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Proven experience in cybersecurity, OS hardening, security log review, risk mitigation, and related activities.
- Hands-on experience in IT network administration and system administration, particularly in office IT environments.
- At least 3 years of relevant experience preferred (candidates with less experience but a strong interest in the domain will also be considered).
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
- Certifications such as ITIL, CCNA, CISSP, RHCSA, CITP, ISO27001, or similar are preferred.
- Excellent technical knowledge coupled with a professional, approachable attitude and strong ownership of tasks.
- Highly adaptable, with a proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous learning.
