Lower Secondary Science Teacher (Years 6-8), Cambridge Curriculum
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Science Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will be passionate about fostering a positive and engaging learning environment for middle grade students, and will possess expertise in the Cambridge/IB curriculum. This role involves teaching all areas of Lower Secondary Science, spanning Years 6-8, with the flexibility to teach either lower or higher grade levels within this range. The successful candidate will serve as both an Advisory Teacher and Subject Main Teacher for Science.
Responsibilities:
- Take responsibility for the academic and pastoral progress of a class of middle grade students.
- Organize the classroom and learning resources, creating stimulating displays to encourage a positive learning environment.
- Plan, prepare, and deliver differentiated lessons that cater to the diverse learning needs of all students within the class.
- Motivate students through enthusiastic and imaginative class activities.
- Prepare, mark, and provide constructive feedback on student work to facilitate positive development.
- Meet assessment requirements, accurately record, evaluate, and report on student progress.
- Provide regular feedback to parents regarding student progress.
- Collaborate effectively with colleagues to plan and coordinate curriculum and activities.
- Organize and participate in school events, outings, and extracurricular activities.
- Undertake special assignments, ad-hoc functions, and related duties as required.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Education/Teaching or equivalent.
- Essential: MSc in Botany, Physics, Master of Philosophy (Chemistry), or any related Science Studies.
- At least 3 years of relevant teaching experience in international schools.
- Preferred: Pedagogical Certification Qualifications (e.g., CICTL).
- Experience with other international curricula (e.g., Cambridge/IB PYP, MYP, DP, IGCSE, CBSE, ICSE) is advantageous.
Teacher Welfare:
