In this part-time role, you will support SPD, one of Singapore’s most established social services organizations, in its mission to serve families of persons with disabilities.

Working with the Community Inclusion & Engagement and Volunteer Management teams, you will be responsible for door-to-door outreach and outreach booth support, to introduce and connect both persons with disabilities and their families, community partners and potential volunteers to ESH@Punggol’s activities and services.

Job Scope

Door-to-Door Outreach

  • Conduct door-to-door outreach within designated north-east region of Singapore (Seng Kang, Punggol, Serangoon, Hougang) to inform families of persons with disabilities and residents about ESH and SPD’s services and opportunities.
  • Provide detailed information about ESH’s activities and services for persons with disabilities and their caregivers, as well as opportunities for volunteer engagement.
  • Establish a rapport with community members, listening to their needs and concerns, and connect them to appropriate SPD services.
  • Identify and engage potential volunteers by explaining the benefits and impact of volunteering with SPD. Encourage sign-ups and participation in SPD’s volunteer programs.
  • Collect relevant data during interactions, including contact details, feedback, and interest levels, ensuring this information is accurately recorded and shared with the team for follow-up.

Outreach Booth Support

  • Set up and manage outreach booths in community spaces, such as malls or public areas, to engage with individuals and promote ESH’s services.
  • Actively engage with individuals visiting the booth, providing information, answering questions, and encouraging participation in SPD’s programs.
  • Raise awareness about the importance of inclusion for persons with disabilities and the impact of volunteer efforts in supporting these initiatives.
  • Collect visitor details, track their interests, and document feedback. Ensure that all potential leads are followed up with appropriately.

Collaboration And Reporting

  • Work closely with the Community Inclusion & Engagement and Volunteer Management teams to ensure outreach efforts are aligned with SPD’s goals.
  • Regularly update the teams on outreach progress, including successes, challenges, and valuable insights from interactions with the community.
  • Work closely with other team members involved in outreach and volunteer engagement, ensuring a consistent and coordinated approach to community outreach efforts.
  • Consolidate and maintain accurate outreach data, ensuring proper documentation for future follow-ups and program improvements, including Door-to-Door and Volunteer Management data and any relevant insights gathered during interactions.

Requirements

  • Competent in basic MS Excel skills
  • Able to travel around the North-east region of Singapore
  • Eager to champion services for persons with disabilities
  • Hours Required (Subject to change based on operational needs)
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, able to engage effectively with diverse audience on a one-to-one level
  • Professional and presentable, in-line with the role’s requirements to represent the organization’s respectable programmes
  • Conversant and adaptable
