Exciting opportunity to play a leading role in the companies growth in APAC. As Regional General Counsel you will oversee the origination, development and construction of new Data Centers across APAC.Essential Job Functions
  • Serve as a strategic legal partner to New Site Acquisition, Development, Capital Markets, and Corporate Development teams in APAC, providing practical, business-focused legal advice.
  • Lead and manage a strong existing team of lawyers handling construction, commercial contracts, real estate matters, and corporate secretarial work.
  • Lead the legal work for complex transactions, including acquisitions, joint ventures, and financing (construction, unsecured, real estate, and securitizations), ensuring alignment with business goals and risk management strategies.
  • Review and negotiate a wide range of commercial contracts and other critical legal documents.
  • Support the New Site Acquisition team by providing expert legal counsel on real estate acquisitions, including the negotiation of related documents.
  • Oversee legal matters related to APAC operations, including transaction negotiation, governance, and the management of outside counsel.
  • Implement and monitor compliance with group and regional policies covering key regulatory areas, ensuring adherence to legal standards across the region.
  • Drive continuous improvement and standardization of legal practices within the APAC region, contributing to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the legal department.
Job Requirements
  • JD from an accredited law school, admission to a state bar, or equivalent legal qualifications.
  • Experience managing a team strongly preferred.
  • 12+ years of legal experience.
  • Proven experience as a transactional lawyer, with a strong background in structuring, negotiating, and closing complex transactions.
  • Experience within the data center, telecommunications, or a related industry preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex legal concepts in simple terms to business leaders.
  • Practical, business-minded executive with a strategic approach to legal matters.
  • Ability to work independently while navigating between strategic leadership and hands-on legal work.
  • High ethical standards, integrity, and a commitment to achieving business objectives through sound legal practices.
