Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Assistant Teacher to support the Lead Teacher in creating a safe, engaging, and enriching learning environment for preschool-aged children. The ideal candidate should have a love for working with young children, be a team player, and demonstrate a willingness to learn and grow in the field of early childhood education.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the Lead Teacher in planning and conducting daily lessons, activities, and routines based on the school’s curriculum.
- Support children's learning through play-based and inquiry-based experiences.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of children at all times, including supervising playtime, mealtimes, and rest periods.
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages curiosity, creativity, and social-emotional development.
- Assist in preparing and organizing teaching materials, learning resources, and classroom setups.
- Observe, document, and communicate children's progress and behavior to the Lead Teacher and parents when required.
- Build strong, professional relationships with children, parents, and colleagues.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and stimulating classroom environment.
- Participate in school events, field trips, and community outreach programs.
- Adhere to the preschool’s policies and guidelines, ensuring compliance with ECDA (Early Childhood Development Agency) regulations.
Requirements:
- Minimum ACEY (Advanced Certificate in Early Years) or higher qualification in Early Childhood Education.
- Relevant experience in a preschool or childcare setting is an advantage.
- Passion for working with young children and supporting their holistic development.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Positive attitude, patience, and a nurturing personality.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain one) is preferred.
