At EDDC, our goal is to discover and develop novel therapeutics by working collaboratively with the public sector and industry partners. EDDC now has an opening and is seeking to recruit a highly motivated Scientist/ Senior Scientist in the Oncology Discovery team. The successful candidate will participate and support inter-disciplinary drug discovery projects. This is an exciting opportunity to be a part of the team working on the discovery of novel therapeutics and engaging in preclinical drug development from target exploration to drug candidate selection.

Principle Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Develop and perform biochemical, biophysical and cellular assays including Western blotting, ELISA, HTRF, flow cytometry, internalization, ADCC and cell viability assays for target validation and functional characterization of biologics and antibody-drug conjugates.
  • Perform molecular cloning, stable cell-line generation, CRISPR/Cas9 genome editing, siRNA/shRNA knockdown and qPCR.
  • Analyze and present experimental data in a clear and concise manner, demonstrating a good understanding of its utilization and implications in the context of drug discovery.
  • Support laboratory housekeeping, safety check, SOP writing and other administrative and compliance-related processes.

Requirements:

  • Degree or postgraduate degree in biology, biochemistry, biomedical sciences or related disciplines.
  • Minimum 3 years of working experience.
  • Proficient in designing and conducting qPCR, flow cytometry, internalization, ADCC and cell viability assays, and performing data analysis using FlowJo and GraphPad PRISM.
  • Experience in establishing high-throughput screening assays with the aim of identifying hits and lead molecules.
  • Attention to detail, strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks, deliver results within timelines.
  • Good written and oral communication skills, with meticulous record-keeping.
  • Possess strong interpersonal and collaborative spirit.
