You will experience high levels of ownership and empowerment in your role.JOB DESCRIPTIONThe Assistant Head of Primary School is an innovative leader who empowers teams through the elements of The Nexus Way. They support the Head of Primary School in the pedagogical, strategic and operational leadership of the primary school. The Assistant Head of Primary School works with the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) including the Principal, Head of Secondary School, Head of Primary School, Head of Operations and other Deputy Heads of School. As part of the SLT, the Assistant Head of Primary School is an effective communicator and works collaboratively with all members of the community.ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIESLeading teaching and learning in phases of the primary schoolLeading on curriculum development in phases of the primary schoolLeading and working with Year Leaders, Phase Leaders and Support Services LeadersContributing to whole school strategic planningSupporting with recruitment of Nexus teachersLeading on professional learningMonitoring, tracking and reporting of academic progressLeading aspects of external accreditations including EduTrust, IB and CISWorking collaboratively on Vertical Alignment with the Secondary SchoolTeaching classes as requiredInvolvement in whole school events and activities as required.To perform any other duties as assignedQUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLSA relevant degree plus teaching qualification (or equivalent)Higher degree or recognised professional qualification (preferred)Coaching accreditation (preferred)Evidence of continued relevant professional developmentExperience in an international school environment (preferred)Experience in a Primary School leadership roleExperience with an inclusive approach to learning and working with diverse needsRelevant IB PYP curriculum experienceInvolvement in key whole school events and activitiesNexus International School (Singapore) is committed to the safety and wellbeing of our children and families.
