Roles & Responsibilities
Job Summary:
The Driver is responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of employees, as well as the delivery and collection of equipment, materials, and documents related to Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) inspection activities. This role requires adherence to safety regulations, proper vehicle maintenance, and timely execution of duties to support operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Transportation of Employees:
Safely transport employees to and from job sites, office locations, and other required destinations.
Ensure punctuality and adherence to assigned schedules.
Follow all traffic laws and company safety policies while driving.
2. Delivery & Collection of Items:
Pick up and deliver NDT inspection tools, equipment, materials, and reports as required.
Ensure proper handling and secure transportation of sensitive and valuable items.
Maintain accurate records of deliveries and collections.
3. Vehicle Maintenance & Safety:
Perform routine vehicle inspections and report any maintenance issues.
Ensure the vehicle is clean, well-maintained, and fueled at all times.
Comply with all road safety regulations and company policies.
4. Documentation & Reporting:
Maintain a logbook of daily trips, mileage, fuel consumption, and any incidents.
Report any delays, accidents, or mechanical issues promptly.
5. Compliance & Support:
Follow company policies, safety standards, and customer service protocols.
Assist NDT personnel with loading and unloading materials when necessary.
Provide support for NDT Inspectors when not occupied with core duties.
Job Requirements:
Qualifications & Experience:
Valid class 4 driver’s license with a clean driving record.
Minimum of 2 years of experience. Those without experience may be considered.
Familiarity with road safety regulations and local routes.
Experience in handling deliveries, especially technical equipment, is an advantage.
Skills & Competencies:
Safe and defensive driving skills.
Good communication and time management skills.
Basic understanding of vehicle maintenance.
Ability to handle physical tasks, such as lifting equipment.
Professional, responsible, and punctual attitude.
Working Conditions:
May require early morning, late evening, or weekend hours based on operational needs.
Travel to various locations as needed for transportation and deliveries.
Physical ability to load/unload equipment and handle deliveries safely.
This position is critical to ensuring smooth transportation and logistics for NDT inspection activities. The driver must be dependable, safety-conscious, and committed to supporting the team efficiently.
