Job Scope:

The QA/QC Executive is responsible for ensuring that all food products meet established safety and quality standards. This role involves overseeing quality control and assurance processes, implementing SOPs, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in food safety management, SOP and policy creation, and hands-on experience in quality control enforcement with minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities:

Quality Assurance & Compliance

  • Develop, implement, and review Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and company policies to ensure compliance with food safety and quality standards.
  • Ensure adherence to GMP, HACCP, ISO 22000, FSSC 22000, and other relevant food safety standards.
  • Conduct internal audits and support external audits from regulatory bodies and certification agencies.
  • Monitor compliance with food safety regulations, labelling requirements, and customer specifications.

Quality Control & Production Oversight

  • Enforce quality control measures at every stage of production, ensuring that products meet company and customer specifications.
  • Supervise and train production staff on quality standards, hygiene practices, and SOP compliance.
  • Conduct regular inspections of raw materials, in-process production, and finished products.
  • Investigate quality deviations, conduct root cause analyses, and implement corrective/preventive actions.

Testing & Documentation

  • Oversee sensory evaluations, liaise external microbial testing, and other laboratory analyses to ensure food safety and quality.
  • Maintain proper documentation of quality checks, audit reports, non-conformance reports, and corrective action plans.
  • Ensure proper retention and review of finished product samples for traceability and investigation purposes.

Continuous Improvement & Training

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance food safety, quality, and operational efficiency.
  • Train and mentor production and QA staff on best practices in food safety and quality management.
  • Collaborate with R&D and Production teams to assess new ingredients, formulations, and process modifications.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree/Diploma in Food Science, Food Technology, Microbiology, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a QA/QC role within the food manufacturing industry.
  • Strong understanding of HACCP, GMP, ISO 22000, and FSSC 22000 principles.
  • Proven experience in creating and implementing SOPs, quality policies, and process controls.
  • Hands-on experience in conducting internal audits, root cause analysis, and corrective action implementation.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to make quick, informed decisions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while coordinating with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to handle multiple tasks effectively.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and experience with ERP or QC software is a plus.
  • Good communication and leadership skills to train and enforce quality standards among production staff.
