Job Overview:

A "Data Centre Operator" would be responsible for monitoring, maintaining, and operating the critical data infrastructure within the company’s data centre, ensuring smooth functionality of systems, network connectivity, and data availability, while adhering to strict security and compliance standards, likely including tasks like system monitoring, troubleshooting hardware issues, environmental control, and coordinating with IT teams to address any potential disruptions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • System Monitoring:

Actively monitor data centre systems, including servers, network devices, storage systems, and environmental parameters, utilizing monitoring tools to identify potential issues and anomalies.

  • Incident Management:

Respond to alerts and troubleshoot technical issues promptly, escalating critical problems to relevant IT teams as necessary.

  • Hardware Maintenance:

Perform routine maintenance tasks on data centre equipment, including preventative checks, hardware replacements, and cable management.

  • Environmental Control:

Monitor and adjust cooling systems within the data centre to maintain optimal temperature and humidity levels, ensuring equipment longevity.

  • Security Management:

Implement and enforce data centre security protocols, including access controls, user authentication, and data encryption.

  • Backup and Recovery:

Oversee data backup procedures and ensure the integrity of backup systems for disaster recovery.

  • Capacity Planning:

Collaborate with IT teams to assess data centre capacity needs and plan for future infrastructure upgrades.

  • Documentation and Reporting:

Maintain detailed logs of data centre operations, including incident reports, maintenance activities, and performance metrics.

The DC Operators and Helpdesk Support team shall minimally possess the following requirement:

(a) At least 1 year of working experience in Data Centre Engineer Operations;

(b) Certification in Data Centre Facilities Operations or equivalent; and

(c) At least 3 years of working experience as Application Helpdesk Support team.
