Summary

Position Summary:

Lead and drive continuous improvement initiatives in Instrument Manufacturing Operations. Establish and sustain continuous improvement framework to support manufacturing processes driving operational excellence. To build strong partnership with Operational Excellence team to drive company-wide strategies and implementations.

Position Responsibilities

  • Lead Cross Functional team and drive continuous improvement initiatives in Instrument Operations.
  • Lead Cross Functional Team to implement methodologies to drive measurable and sustainable improvements in quality, material control, throughput, flexibility, and cost.
  • Establish framework, develop appropriate tools and methods, to sustain continuous improvement efforts within Instrument Operations team.
  • Guide and support manufacturing team in Lean, Kaizen, and problem-solving methodologies.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track progress and identify areas for improvement.
  • Lead change management initiatives to ensure successful implementation of process improvements and cultural change.
  • Establish, conduct and/or facilitate structured training program for manufacturing and engineering team.
  • Guide and support manufacturing team in Lean Six Sigma, Kaizen, and problem-solving methodologies.
  • Incorporate the use of Lean Six Sigma tools and methods in team activities and business problem solving (RIE, VSM/VSA).
  • Promote analytical problem solving through the application of statistical control methodology.
  • Provide guidance and supervision to junior staff

Position Requirements

  • Preferred with experience in leading Lean Kaizen events in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience and track record making rapid measurable improvements through the implementation of lean methods in a company respected and admired for operational excellence.
  • Strong process, analytical skills, problem solving and troubleshooting.
  • Demonstrated ability to use statistical tools in data analysis and problem solving.
  • Experience with FDA regulated & ISO13485 medical device manufacturing.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail and accuracy, and the ability to work independently and in a team environment are essential.
  • Experience mentoring and teaching others.
  • Six Sigma Green Belt/Black Belt would be added advantage.
  • Must thrive in fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred Experience/Education/Skills

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Engineering required. Graduate (Master’s) Degree preferred.
  • 10+ years working experience with 5-7 years of relevant experience applying the elements of lean/operational excellence.
  • Excellent leadership and project management skills, with the ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
