Due to Val-Technik’s plan to increase its presence and expand its business, we are looking for an aspiring and driven Sales Engineer or Account Manager.

You will be based in Singapore, being responsible for all the customer accounts in the Engineering Solutions business unit and your role’s main focus is to grow the sales of this business unit. You are expected to achieve this by adhering to the direction provided by strategy function of our organisation, communicating the obtained market information internally, assisting the business development and marketing activities, and providing technical support to the customers. You are part of the Business Development and Sales Team and will report to the General Manager.

What will you do?

  • You will assume full responsibility of any existing customer accounts assigned to you.
  • You are also responsible for growing any existing customer accounts assigned to you.
  • More importantly, you will find and develop new customer accounts in the targeted market assigned to you.
  • You are to conduct market surveys and identify opportunities and trends in the market.
  • You are required to fulfil all control documents (including but not limited to project list(s), customer contact list(s), consultant list(s), etc.) needed by the strategy function.
  • You are to prepare for and deliver compelling technical presentations to consultants and owners with our Engineering and Technical Team.
  • You have to effectively communicate and document all relevant information that you have obtained or created to the management.
  • You should be able to prepare sales plan and forecasts and contribute ideas on sales strategies when required.
  • You may be required to contribute ideas and content to the marketing tools of the company (i.e not restricted to but include the company’s website, social media accounts, brochures, leaflets, datasheets and spec sheets).
  • You shall manage the day-to-day customer enquiries, questions and issues.
  • You will also attend any site meetings whenever required.

What should I bring?

  • A recognised relevant academic degree in engineering with at least 3 to 5 years of technical sales experience in either one of or a combination of the food and beverage, pharmaceutical, semi-conductor, marine and offshore and water and wastewater treatment markets or equivalent.
  • Strong network and connections within the industry is preferred.
  • You are highly interested in the commercial element of engineering while being technically adept.
  • Ambition to be part of a dynamic sales team, with a strong technical background.
  • Ambition and desire to have a progressive and exciting career.
  • Proactiveness, strong sense of ownership and willingness to learn.
  • Drive with enthusiasm to succeed in task(s) and ability to work under pressure.
  • Being positive, outgoing, energetic and resilient.
  • Good communication skills and ability to foster good personal relations.
  • Exhibit a “team player” mentality and is able to prioritise tasks/opportunities and think strategically.
  • Fluent in English; other languages are assets.
