Diabetes Singapore is seeking dedicated and compassionate Enrolled Nurses to join our dynamic healthcare team, supporting our Diabetes Retinopathy and Diabetes Foot Screening programs across our Clinics and Mobile Screening Bus. This role plays a vital part in early detection and management of diabetes-related complications, contributing directly to our mission of improving the lives of individuals living with diabetes.
Training will be providedto equip the successful candidates with specialized skills required for diabetes retinopathy and foot screenings.
Key Responsibilities:
· Clinical Screening:
- Perform diabetes retinopathy screenings using retinal cameras (training provided).
- Conduct comprehensive foot screenings, including assessment of circulation, sensation, and skin conditions.
- Identify early signs of diabetes-related complications and escalate cases for further medical evaluation as needed.
· Patient Care:
- Educate patients on the importance of regular screenings and diabetes self-management.
- Provide basic diabetes-related counseling under supervision, promoting lifestyle modifications to reduce risks.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and ensure a high standard of care.
· Administrative Duties:
- Accurately document screening results in patient records and databases.
- Assist in scheduling follow-up appointments and referrals when required.
- Support the smooth operation of the mobile screening bus, including setup and closure activities.
· Team Collaboration:
- Work closely with doctors, nurses, and allied health professionals to deliver ntegrated care.
- Participate in outreach activities, health fairs, and diabetes awareness campaigns organized by Diabetes Singapore.
Qualifications and Requirements:
· Educational Requirements:
- Possess at least a Professional Certificate/Nitec, Nursing or equivalent.
- Must be a Registered Enrolled Nurse with the Singapore Nursing Board (SNB).
· Skills and Competencies:
- Strong interest in diabetes care, screening, and preventive health services.
- Good clinical assessment and observational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Basic computer literacy for data entry and reporting purposes.
· Other Requirements:
- Willingness to travel to various clinic locations and operate within the mobile screening bus.
- Flexible to work occasional weekends for community outreach events.
- Previous experience in primary care, community nursing, or chronic disease management is an advantage (but not mandatory).
