Job Overview:We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced LIMS Consultant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) with expertise in implementation, configuration, and customization of particularly Clinisys LIMS platform. As a LIMS Consultant, you will be responsible for driving the successful delivery of LIMS projects by collaborating with stakeholders, providing technical expertise, and ensuring the smooth integration of lab applications. You will be instrumental in all stages of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) from requirements gathering to application release.Key Responsibilities:
  • LIMS Implementation & Customization: Lead the implementation, configuration, and customization of LIMS solutions for clients. Ensure the solutions meet specific business requirements in sample management domains.
  • Technical Development: Leverage expertise in JavaScript, iReport, and Java to design and develop robust, scalable LIMS solutions.
  • Integration & Reporting: Handle the integration of LIMS with other lab applications, ensuring seamless data flow. Develop and customize reports using reporting tools to deliver accurate and insightful data to stakeholders.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Interface with key stakeholders to understand business requirements, provide updates, and resolve issues throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC): Apply technical proficiency to all stages of SDLC, including requirements elicitation, design, development, validation, and release of LIMS solutions.
  • Application Architecture & Design: Define and review the architecture and design of the LIMS applications, ensuring scalability, performance, and maintainability.
  • Project Management & Team Collaboration: Manage and contribute to project activities in both development and maintenance phases. Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and clients to ensure timely project delivery.
  • Continuous Improvement: Assess current processes, identify areas for improvement, and propose technology solutions that optimize laboratory operations and business processes.
  • Industry Knowledge: Stay updated on the latest technologies and industry trends related to LIMS. Provide insights on emerging technologies and best practices in LIMS solutions.
  • Client-facing Roles: Provide expert guidance on LIMS solutions, deliver professional presentations, conduct workshops, and facilitate LIMS system training to ensure clients effectively implement and optimize their laboratory information management systems.
  • Data Base Administrator role: Maintain the LIMS database, ensuring system reliability and optimal performance.
  • Technical Support Role: Provide support for defects in reports generated by the LIMS product and offer initial guidance on utilizing new modules and system extensions.
Required Experience:
  • Proven experience in LIMS implementation, configuration, and customization, with a focus on laboratory applications and sample management.
  • Hands-on experience in JavaScript, iReport, Java, and Reporting tools.
  • Strong experience across the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) with practical knowledge in designing, developing, and deploying LIMS solutions particularly Clinisys.
  • Exposure to sample management domains or Industrial Laboratory workflows.
  • Solid understanding of the Lab Application Integration with Laboratory instruments / other Applications and custom development for LIMS platforms.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to handle multiple stakeholders, deadlines, and teams.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage clients and stakeholders effectively.
  • Experience in Design and Architecture Reviews of LIMS systems.
  • Ability to assess client needs, define technical requirements, and translate them into functional or design specifications.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to think logically and troubleshoot complex issues.
  • Familiarity with software configuration management systems and version control tools.
  • A collaborative mindset, with a strong ability to work in a diverse, cross-functional team environment.
  • Proficiency in cloud-based LIMS solutions and familiarity with emerging technologies in laboratory informatics will be considered a significant advantage.
Education & Experience:
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Chemical engineering or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in LIMS-related consulting or development roles.
  • Experience working with multiple LIMS platforms is a plus, but Clinisys platform is mandatory.
