Job Title:Senior Engineer, Materials Quality EngineeringJob Description:Job SummaryWe are seeking a dynamic Senior Engineer in our Materials Quality Engineering team (Supplier Quality) to support our Asia supplier base and manufacturing operations. In this role, the candidate’s primary responsibility will be to assess and manage supplier risk, quality performance, and improvement to ensure the continuity of both Entegris and our customer’s supply chain. This position will support the Materials Solutions Division and plants in Japan, South Korea, and Singapore. The raw material portfolio to be managed is critical for supporting on wafer consumable products for the most demanding applications in the semiconductor industry. The candidate must be able to work with autonomy and independent judgement to achieve both Materials Quality Engineering and Entegris corporate goals plus lead continuous improvement and supplier change projects with our critical/strategic suppliers. The candidate will also work closely with Commodity Managers, Operations, R&D and Customer Quality for internal and customer issue resolution. Robust interpersonal skills to develop strong working relationships with both internal customers and our critical/strategic suppliers is required to enable effective supplier management and improvement of supplier performance. This position will work closely with the global Materials Quality Engineering team to support the business.Key ResponsibilitiesMain technical interface between raw material suppliers and Entegris to assure all requirements for Incoming material quality is met.Own supplier process control system reviews (SPC trend reviews, metrology/SPC systems reviews).Initiate, coordinate, drive and own supplier change notification through the Entegris internal change control system and supplier communication.Collect and evaluate supplier process and product data and have an understanding how the material properties impact product quality.Develop in-depth understanding of suppliers manufacturing processes and be a subject matter expert to reduce/prevent quality issues.Build supplier capabilities, and assure they are capable to meet all expectations on quality, cost, and delivery.Serve as a technical and risk assessment owner for any Supplier changes impacting the raw materialMain contact developing road map and risk assessment with Suppliers for Continuous Improvement activities on process and metrologyBuild solid relationships with suppliers and interact regularly in order to focus and drive timely resolution of issuesWork closely with other functional groups in quality, manufacturing, commercial and R&D teams, global materials quality engineers and also collect information for Supplier metricsLead customer investigations related to raw materials, including direct customer interfacing when necessaryUtilize Entegris’ quality management processes including audits, FMEAs, corrective actions, scorecards, six sigma projects, management of change, etc to assure consistent and high quality raw material supplyCore Requisite Criteria & SkillB.S Degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or Materials Science. Advanced degree is a plus. Six-Sigma Green Belt preferred7-10 years of related chemical or inorganic manufacturing (Cerium oxide, colloidal silica, aluminum oxide) related experienceDemonstration of previous success working with suppliers or customers is preferred.Experience in semiconductor, microelectronics, automotive, or high-tech industry a plusProject management experience a plusTravel up to 10% of the time, including international travel if requiredAbility to communicate fluently in English, additional fluency in Korean or Japanese a plusMust have a solid understanding of chemical manufacturing processes, continuous improvement methods, problem solving techniques, SPC, and FMEA. Understanding of metrology of materials and inorganic abrasive processes is a plusAbility to focus and summarize complex data sets towards key decision points (actions)Experience in chemical or industrial manufacturing environment is a plusUnderstand Quality Systems and Auditing and have statistical knowledgeKnowledge of Statistical software such as Minitab, JMPStrong influencing and negotiation skills are requiredAbility to develop and foster strong business relationships.Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills and must possess a sense of urgency in satisfying internal and external customer needs
