The project is on development of cultivated meat to support Singapore's aspiration of 30 by 30. There are 3 institutions involved in this project; NTU, SIT and IHPC (A*Star). The project aims to use simulations and digitalization to guide the development and production of cells encapsulated scaffolds for the cultivated meat research.

We are seeking a Project Officer to support and coordinate research activities related to food security, with a focus on cultivated meat and alternative proteins. This role will primarily involve managing data analysis, facilitating research collaborations, and contributing to the dissemination of research findings. The Project Officer will serve as the key point of contact for a research project involving three Institutes of Higher Learning (IHLs), ensuring the achievement of research milestones and fostering stakeholder engagement.

Key Responsibilities

The candidate is expected to oversee the progress, coordination, and execution of various research projects.

  • Assist in data collection, data analysis, and interpretation to support research objectives.
  • Facilitate collaborations between researchers from multiple IHLs, coordinating research activities and ensuring alignment with project goals.
  • Manage research-related administrative tasks, including scheduling and coordinating research meetings, preparing agendas, documenting minutes, and maintaining organized records.
  • Support the preparation of research reports, publications, and presentations, ensuring accurate and timely dissemination of findings.
  • Develop and maintain content for the PI's digital platforms, including social media and websites, to highlight key research initiatives and outcomes.
  • Collaborate with team members to translate complex research concepts into accessible formats for diverse audiences.
  • Assist with budget management and the preparation of slides and documentation for research funding agencies. Foster connections with stakeholders, ensuring regular communication and progress towards research milestones.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Business Administration, Food Science, or a related field, with a strong focus in project management
  • Proven experience in research administrative support including planning logistics, preparing agendas, documenting meetings, and managing stakeholder communications.
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks, maintain detailed records, and ensure the smooth execution of projects.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience creating and disseminating content across various platforms, such as social media and websites.
  • Proficiency in digital tools such as Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace, and basic content management systems (e.g., WordPress). Familiarity with design tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Suite) is an advantage.
  • Experience working with diverse stakeholders
  • Knowledge of food security concepts especially cultivated meat is a strong asset.
  • Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment.
