Reporting directly to the Managing Director, the Senior Manager (Head), Business & Capabilities Development will be responsible for driving business capabilities related to quality standards, compliance, food safety, food technology, innovation and productivity across the organization. The role ensures all business operations meet industry regulations and internal benchmarks while fostering efficiency, innovation, risk mitigation, and champion continuous improvement initiatives.
Responsibilities:
Quality Standards & Compliance:
- Develop and implement quality control policies and procedures to ensure compliance to regulatory standards of NEA, AVA, HACCP, ISO 90012, HALAL certification, and any other international food safety standards as required by the business operations.
- Oversee audits, inspections, and certification processes to maintain high product quality and regulatory compliance
- Lead investigations and ensures close follow-up action plans implemented to all prevent non-conformity relating to internal processes and products
- Monitor food production, handling and storage processes to ensure strict adherence to food safety standards.
- Monitor vendor quality performance and verify corrective actions to ensure actions’ effectiveness
- Implement document and quality data control
Productivity:
- Identify best practices and scale adoption of these best practices to the entire company through the communication with the various stakeholders
- Analyze and identify opportunities for process improvement to enhance efficiency optimizing resources (eg. Machines, technogy, manhours) and compliance
- Drive cross-functional or cross-department initiatives that align with business goals and strategic priorities and establish KPIs to measure the productivity initiatives to be implemented
- Work with government agencies on relevant grant applications and monitor progress to ensure compliance with funding requirements
Food Technology:
- Work with Food Technologist in the company achieve stated objective of the company
- Work on process improvements to achieve better efficiency and cost
- Conduct sensory evaluation for new products
- Perform initial trial runs for new products and line set-up
Skills/Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Food Science / Food Technology or other related disciplines
- Minimum 8-10 years of experience in quality assurance, compliance and food safety within F&B industry
- Proven leadership and team management skills with minimum 5 years in team manager role
- Prior experience in statutory board will be an added advantage
- Internal quality auditing training or experience will be an added advantage
- Well versed in latest technology development / business movement/ government initiatives
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
