Job Description:

  • Implementing the Project Management role and collaborating with other members within the Project Development Team in overall development activities of the region, particularly on technical, legal, commercial, and finance scopes of work.
  • Evaluating the feasibility of new business opportunities commercially, technically, financially and legally.
  • Collaborating with relevant internal departments and external third-party advisors and organizations in developing new Independent Power Producer (IPP) projects and infrastructure projects like PPP, PFI and other types of business opportunities, including conducting feasibility study, risk analysis, due diligence review, documentation and securing internal approvals.
  • Managing the relationships with relevant governmental authorities, electricity off-takers across the region and having discussions and negotiations with them.
  • Managing banking relationships across the region and having discussions and negotiations with banks and any other financing institutions for project financing, including, but not limited to, commercial banks, multilateral Development Finance Institutions, and Export Credit Agencies.
  • Managing law firm relationships across the region.
  • Managing the whole lifecycle of project development and documentation including but not limited to negotiating Consortium Agreement/Joint Development Agreement/Shareholders’ Agreement/Joint Venture Agreement, Power Purchase Agreements, Implementation Agreements, EPC Contracts, and Land Lease Agreement.
  • Supporting technical, finance and legal experts to analyse and structure for projects in the region.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree related to finance, business or equivalent.
  • Approximate 10 years of relevant work experience in power or infrastructure project development field.
  • Proficiency in English and Japanese language (JLPT N1) to liaise with English and Japensese speaking business partners and stakeholders.
  • Good negotiation, communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Have a sufficient understanding of Japanese corporate practices, output quality, critical thinking and decision making process.
  • Ability to work independently and spontaneously as part of a team.
  • Travelling as and when required for overseas business trips and events (depends on different job requirement, several months overseas travelling may be required occassionally.)
