
Head of Active for Life - Basketball
UWCSEA has a vacancy for a Head of Active for Life - Basketball for its Dover campus.
The Head of Active for Life is a key member of the UWC Dover Basketball Programme and is responsible for the design, delivery and monitoring of the School, After School and Phoenix Club Programme. The Head of Active for Life will work alongside the Head of Basketball, to implement a world-class coaching programme aimed to develop a strong School, After School and Phoenix Club basketball development pathway from infant to high school and beyond. The Head of Active for Life will be responsible for the on-court and off-court management of the coaching team for all basketball development programmes, and will also be involved in all coaching duties where required.
Main Responsibilities
The role requires strong leadership of the:
- Planning and implementation of a broad, inclusive and varied, year-long Active for Life Basketball Programme for students, staff & the wider UWCSEA & Singapore community.
- Lead the Development Coaching team, ensuring all coaches are working to the highest level and following all . This includes leading and monitoring of external providers.
- Organise and mentor CAS Students and teacher assists for all development coaching and Service Programmes.
- Lead the Implementation of student Assessment & Feedback systems in Development programmes
- Organise & mentor CAS Students and teacher assists instructing in Development and Service programmes
Person Specifications
Qualification
- National body coaching qualification - Level 2 and 3 or Equivalent National Coaching Award, Certified First Aider (Standard First Aid Certification preferred).
- Good written and spoken english
- Child safeguarding
Experience
- Minimum 7 years experience coaching development players and competitive level players. Experience running a large scaled basketball programme and leading a team of coaches.

- Excellent communication skills
- To demonstrate a commitment to making a positive difference in the lives of students and members of the UWCSEA community
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, written and oral communication skills
- Able to work cohesively in a team-based environment as well as independently and passionate about working with children from K1 to G12
- An ability to develop relationships based on mutual respect
