Regional Director, Engineering (Data Centre Owner)

As the Regional Director, Engineering, you will lead the engineering practices for Data Centre (DC) development across the region (Malaysia, Indonesia and Thailand), ensuring standardisation in design and construction. You will oversee green and brownfield projects, liaising with internal and external teams to manage site feasibility, design, tender, construction, and delivery processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and mentor a team of engineering specialists in DC development, including new technology research, design, and construction methodologies.
  • Drive site selection, project team formation, and engagement of consultants (e.g., M&E, C&S, Energy) to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Lead efforts in improving DC efficiency, sustainability, and energy performance, with a focus on lowering PUE, WUE, and carbon emissions.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to prepare business cases and ensure on-time delivery of DC projects.
  • Oversee the recruitment of top engineering and project management talent.
  • Foster a culture of creativity, collaboration, and innovation within the engineering and development teams.
  • Contribute to strategic planning with other departments (Operations, Finance, etc.) to meet business objectives.
  • Manage the performance of project managers, engineering managers, and energy managers.

Skills & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or related fields.
  • Minimum 15 years of experience in engineering, with at least 10 years in Data Centre development and management.
  • Proven leadership and people management skills.
  • Strong M&E background with expertise in design, fault analysis, and complex engineering solutions.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and financial management skills.
