Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly experienced Chief Resident Engineer (CRE) from the Civil discipline to lead and oversee a team of Resident Engineers. The CRE will work closely with the Engineering Manager on all major technical and design issues during construction. This role requires strong expertise in the design and construction of large infrastructure projects, with specific experience in water-retaining structures. The CRE will define inspection requirements, ensure field engineering, inspection, and testing functions meet engineering standards, and serve in the QP supervision role to ensure construction aligns with approved designs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage a team of Resident Engineers, providing guidance and technical direction throughout the project lifecycle.
- Work closely with the Engineering Manager to address and resolve all major technical and design challenges during construction.
- Define and establish inspection requirements to ensure compliance with engineering and quality standards.
- Ensure the adequacy of field engineering, inspection, and testing functions across contracts to meet project requirements.
- Serve in the QP supervision role, assisting the Qualified Person (QP) for design to ensure construction follows approved designs and specifications.
- Oversee and manage the construction of water-retaining structures and other critical infrastructure components.
- Collaborate with stakeholders, contractors, and consultants to address engineering and construction-related matters effectively.
- Monitor project progress, identify potential risks, and implement corrective measures to maintain quality and safety standards.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory, safety, and environmental requirements in all project activities.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Civil Engineering or a related field.
- Registered Professional Engineer (PE) or Qualified Person (QP) certification preferred.
- Minimum 10 years of relevant engineering experience in design and construction of large infrastructure projects, including water-retaining structures.
- Strong knowledge of engineering design standards, inspection requirements, and construction quality control.
- Proven experience in managing teams of Resident Engineers and site supervision personnel.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to resolve complex technical issues efficiently.
- Strong leadership, communication, and coordination abilities.
