Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Aquarium Tank Maintenance Specialist with a Class 3 License to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for aquatic life, a strong understanding of aquarium systems, and the ability to perform maintenance tasks with precision and care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine maintenance on freshwater and saltwater aquarium systems, including cleaning, water changes, and filter maintenance.
- Monitor and maintain water quality parameters (e.g., pH, ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, salinity) to ensure optimal conditions for aquatic life.
- Inspect and repair aquarium equipment, such as pumps, filters, lighting, and temperature control systems.
- Diagnose and resolve issues related to aquatic health, water quality, and equipment malfunctions.
- Transport and handle aquatic life and equipment safely, adhering to all regulations and guidelines.
- Provide expert advice to clients on aquarium care, stocking, and maintenance best practices.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, water quality tests, and equipment repairs.
- Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations related to aquatic life and water systems.
- Operate company vehicles (Class 3 License required) to travel to client locations for service calls.
Qualifications:
- Valid Class 3 Driver’s License is mandatory.
- Proven experience in aquarium maintenance, aquatic husbandry, or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of aquatic ecosystems, water chemistry, and aquarium equipment.
- Ability to troubleshoot and repair mechanical and electrical systems.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Physical ability to lift and carry heavy equipment (up to 50 lbs) and work in various environments.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
- Certification in aquatic science, marine biology, or a related field is a plus.
