Requirements:
- A Master's degree in computer science, digital media, sport science or related scientific discipline. Candidates with Bachelor's degree may be considered for a Research Assistant position
- Proficient in writing Python code independently
- Experience with and pose estimation using MediaPipe
- Good knowledge in biomechanical concepts and signal processing methods for analysing human movement data
- Experience in graphic design, interactive media, animation and/or deploying markerless motion capture on edge devices is a plus
- Excellent organization and project management skills
- Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing
- Comfortable to work in a team environment
Responsibilities:
- To develop movement assessment tools using computer vision and machine learning techniques (e.g. pose estimation)
- To create educational resources for teaching throwing to primary school children (e.g. digital media, animation)
- To co-develop a technology-enhanced pedagogical intervention with teachers and school leaders
- To support a school-based intervention for enhancing throwing proficiency in children
- To collect and analyse research data on throwing proficiency in children
- To assist with ethics application, compliance monitoring and reporting
- To manage project administration and research data
- To supervise student assistants supporting the project
- To prepare project reports and presentations
- To assist with manuscript writing and data visualization
- Other duties as assigned by PI
