About the Orange Movement

Launched in 2022, the Orange Movement is a global initiative led by IIX to integrate gender equality and climate action into financial markets. As part of this movement, IIX introduced Orange Bonds, the world's first gender-lens and climate-focused asset class designed to:

  • Mobilize $10 billion in capital markets by 2030
  • Impact 100 million women, girls, and gender minorities
  • Position women and gender minorities as key players in climate mitigation and adaptation

The Orange Movement operates through strategic partnerships, financial innovation, and advocacy to transform global finance into a more inclusive and sustainable system. The program is currently funded by Australia's Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) for the next three years, providing a strong foundation for growth. The Head of the Orange Movement will be responsible for executing the current program effectively while securing additional funding to expand its reach and impact.

About the Role

The Head of the Orange Movement will provide strategic vision, leadership, and operational oversight to expand and sustain this global initiative. This high-impact role is responsible for:

  • Executing the existing DFAT-funded program effectively
  • Developing and executing the movement's strategy
  • Building partnerships and mobilizing funding
  • Leading global advocacy and thought leadership
  • Ensuring financial and operational sustainability

Key Responsibilities

1. Strategic Leadership & Vision

  • Develop and implement the global strategy for the Orange Movement.
  • Ensure the successful execution of the current DFAT-funded program.
  • Identify opportunities to expand and scale the movement through additional funding and partnerships.

2. Partnerships & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Build and manage relationships with governments, DFIs, UN agencies, corporations, and philanthropists.
  • Identify and negotiate high-impact partnerships to scale the movement.

3. Fundraising & Resource Mobilization

  • Lead fundraising efforts to secure additional multi-year funding beyond the current DFAT grant.
  • Identify funding opportunities, write grant proposals, and cultivate donor relationships.
  • Oversee grant reporting and financial management.

4. Advocacy & Thought Leadership

  • Serve as the primary spokesperson for the Orange Movement.
  • Represent the movement at global forums, media engagements, and conferences.
  • Launch and lead at least three high-profile advocacy campaigns per year.

5. Governance & Accountability

  • Ensure transparency, accountability, and effective decision-making.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track progress and measure impact.

6. Program Management & Execution

  • Oversee all programs, budgets, timelines, and resources.
  • Ensure alignment and cross-team collaboration within IIX.

7. Team Leadership & Collaboration

  • Lead a high-performing Orange Movement team.
  • Work cross-functionally with IIX investments, advisory, research, and communications teams.

8. Sustainability & Growth

  • Develop strategies for the long-term sustainability of the Orange Movement.
  • Strengthen the movement's brand identity and global community.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

  • Ensure successful execution of the current DFAT-funded program
  • Secure at least $10M in funding within three years
  • Establish partnerships with 10+ global institutions (DFIs, UN agencies, corporates)
  • Lead at least three high-profile global advocacy campaigns per year
  • Ensure the financial and operational sustainability of the movement within three years

Required Qualifications

Education: Bachelor's degree required; MBA or Master's in Business, Commerce, or Finance preferred.
Experience: 15+ years in leadership, strategy development, or engagement within finance, impact investing, or social impact.
Expertise: Strong knowledge of gender equality, climate action, and financial markets.
Communication Skills: Exceptional public speaking, writing, and storytelling abilities.
Strategic Mindset: Ability to translate vision into action and drive measurable results.
Collaboration & Leadership: Proven experience managing cross-functional teams and complex projects.
Location: Fully remote within APAC region with availability to travel.
