We are looking for passionate Software Engineers to join us! This will be under contract employment till 31 March 2027.
As a Software Developer, you will be working as a key member of the Service Management and Insights Platform (SMIP) Team. As a Software Developer, you shall help to level up the team’s competency with his / her valuable past relevant experiences. You shall drive, implement, deploy, maintain and operate products or key components of products. You shall collaborate and work closely with different teams to deliver the best possible and impactful solutions for the whole-of-government.
A brief summary of your job responsibility:
- apply the principles of software engineering to translate functional requirements into technical designs, and perform the coding, maintenance, testing and evaluation of computer software;
- recommend and evaluate detailed designs of system components to ensure reusability and flexibility are practised;
- work within an Agile development team to deliver secure, highquality applications;
- adopt and participate in proven software engineering practices such as:
- Unit Testing
- Continuous Integration
- Refactoring
- Test Driven Development;
- document clearly and properly the processes, codes, and decisions made during the development and testing of software / applications;
- perform peer code reviews;
- ensure good quality of codes via the writing of relevant tests; and
- perform any other IT related tasks / duties as and when assigned to support the smooth business operations
Requirements
To succeed in this role, you will ideally have:
- Minimum 2 years’ programming experience in Javascript, Python, Bash Scripting and Powershell Scripting; and
- Minimum 1 year working on ServiceNow ITSM / CSM platforms is preferred.
- These are additional skills and knowledge that are good to have:
- experience in Agile methodologies such as Scrum or Kanban;
- knowledge of API management / API development as well as design patterns architectures such as thin clients and microservices;
- experience in web development (e.g. HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, AngularJS), Web Services integration (e.g. SOAP, REST, JSON, XML) and Database development (e.g. MySQL, NoSQL and SQLServer);
- skills / knowledge in both mobile and web UI / UX design;
- knowledge of critical thinking;
- strong analytical and problem-solving skills; and solid experience in full SDLC in workflow projects.
