This position offers a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact on students' academic journeys and contribute to a thriving university community.As a Student Support Manager (SSM), you will be responsible for enhancing the student life and well-being of all FASS students. You will provide comprehensive wellness support throughout their academic experience, building and maintaining positive relationships with students, faculty, administrative staff, and external contacts to ensure they receive optimal support and guidance. You will play a pivotal role in fostering student engagement and enrichment.Duties & Responsibilities1. Student Wellbeing and Case Management
  • Offer advice and support to students experiencing emotional difficulties, ensuring thorough follow-up with those on our mentoring/care list. This includes arranging meetings, maintaining regular contact, and monitoring their well-being.
  • Facilitate connections between students and appropriate contacts within and outside NUS (e.g., University Counselling Services, hospitals, Faculty Departments) to ensure timely support.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to provide effective and holistic student support and wellbeing services, including working with student leaders/groups on mental health awareness initiatives.
  • Assist the administration division in managing student and staff-related incidents and crises, ensuring appropriate actions are taken in emergencies affecting students.
  • Assess and improve student advice and wellbeing services through data analysis and research to drive service development and innovation.
  • Enhance student wellness through organising activities that promote well-being
  • Oversee space management, including general maintenance of PitStop@FASS.
2. Health Communication - Promoting Student Health and Wellbeing
  • Identify and promote healthy habits and practices that benefit the student body.
  • Develop strategies to effectively communicate the benefits of these practices to maximize their reach among students.
  • Design and implement campaigns using online and physical platforms to promote healthy practices among students.
3. Other Duties
  • Support various events organized by the External Relations & Student Life division or the broader FASS community.
  • Undertake special projects as assigned by the Vice Dean or Assistant Dean.
Qualifications
  • A recognized university degree (Marketing, Communications, or a related field an advantage)
  • A strong interest in working with students and within a university environment.
  • At least 2 years of experience in providing guidance and wellness support to students or youth, including experience in crisis management.
  • A proven track record or experience in health communication is highly preferred.
  • Resourceful with excellent organizational, planning, and project management skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and manage multiple priorities.
  • Excellent interpersonal and writing skills, capable of working in both one-on-one and group settings, with diverse stakeholders (e.g., students, guardians, university staff, healthcare professionals).
