Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute risk-based internal audit plans focused on key areas such as underwriting, claims management, reinsurance, investments, and operational processes.
  • Identify areas of potential risk, inefficiencies, and weaknesses in internal controls.
  • Evaluate the efficiency and effectiveness of operational workflows, including claims processing, policy issuance, and renewal procedures.
  • Monitor and test the effectiveness of internal controls and recommend improvements.
  • Ensure adherence to regulations issued by the MAS, including the Insurance Act, risk management guidelines, and anti-money laundering requirements
  • Conduct audits of IT systems to ensure data security, operational continuity, and compliance with cybersecurity frameworks.
  • Prepare detailed audit reports with findings, implications, and actionable recommendations for management and the Audit Committee.
  • Follow up on the implementation of agreed-upon corrective actions.
  • Provide guidance on best practices and internal controls to improve overall governance.
  • Propose innovative approaches to improve the audit process and company-wide compliance.

Qualifications & Skills:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.

Certifications: CPA, ACCA, CIA, or equivalent.

Experience:

  • 7-10 years of experience in internal audit, preferably in insurance sector
  • Familiarity with non-life insurance products and operations.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of MAS regulations, IFRS 17, and cybersecurity practices.
