Responsibilities
- Act as liaison between the Board and Project Contractor, coordinating services with specialists and consultants as needed.
- Arrange and oversee Site and Factory Acceptance Tests, including sample reviews and local inspections before commissioning.
- Issue site instructions as required for construction safety and notify the Board immediately.
- Monitor material quality on-site and report non-conformance with specifications.
- Review contractor claims, assist in verifying variation works, and advise the Board on appropriate actions for claims and extensions.
- Ensure site safety, cleanliness, tidiness, and Earth Control Measures (ECM) are maintained.
- Perform daily site monitoring and update records of contractor activities.
- Verify contractor submissions, including transmittals, method statements, and risk assessments, for compliance with specifications.
- Certify completed work monthly for contract payments.
- Inspect, report, and supervise defect rectifications during and at the end of the Defects Liability Period, ensuring satisfactory completion.
Requirements
- Have minimum eight (8) years of relevant experience as a RTO, of which at least five (5) years shall be on site in supervision of works similar in nature to major construction works in utility diversion works, services laying and testing commissioning
- Shall minimum possess a Diploma in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering from a recognized Polytechnic or equivalent; Must also minimum possess WSH certification and ensure the works are carried out safely.
- Shall be conversant in reading construction drawing and specifications. He must also possess abilities to keep good records of documents for future reference
