We solve complex problems by finding integrated data-centric solutions from the first stages of consulting and engineering to installation and commissioning, to the last stages of decommissioning and remediation.Join us and help drive innovation and sustainability in our projects.What you’ll doThe Role:The Energy, Chemicals & Resources in South East Asia, including Singapore, Thailand, Indonesia, Brunei and Malaysia is going through a transformation journey. The owner organisations (Our Clients) are tackling this challenge while managing the drivers on decarbonisation, changing demands on end products (less fuels, more petrochemicals and chemicals), expectations on renewable and recyclable processes using different feedstocks, energy optimisation and nationalisation.Reporting to the VP of Sales for the Asia & MEA Region, the Business Development Director for SEA will have the necessary experience in the Oil and Gas & Energy sector to hold knowledgeable, executive level conversations with our clients. You will focus on their challenges, identify solutions and link in with Worley’s capability centres to direct solutions which resonate with our clients.We are seeking a seasoned professional with extensive experience in the Energy and Chemical sectors and a good understanding of the Resource sector to join our team. Reporting to the VP of Business Development APAC, this role will be pivotal in steering our business development efforts across the Asia region.The role will:
  • Sustain and grow Worley’s market share in the region, enhancing profitability and our share in the traditional and sustainable energy industries.
  • Nurture and develop relationships with customers and partners, enhancing our relationship and identifying new opportunities early that we can provide a differentiated offering.
  • Provide sales leadership and coaching across a broad and diverse region, empowering and supporting the development and success of our sales teams across South-East Asia.
  • Manage an area within a broader corporate function, acting as trusted advisor and support to Regional Operations, compliance and ethics, and Global strategy teams.
  • Develop major goals to support broad functional objectives for you and your team.
Responsibilities:Focusing on Worley’s 3 phase sales process, your key responsibilities will include:
  • Demonstrated leadership aligned with Worley Values and Behaviours.
  • Build and lead a high-performing diverse sales team to drive regional growth.
  • Gather and analyse markets, competitor and client intelligence to develop strong relationships and winning value propositions while keeping abreast of rapidly changing markets
  • Knowledge of Energy and Mining industry and market trends and how they relate to the landscape and customers in SEA
  • An ability to converge the market trends with Worley’s strategic objectives, while bringing in granularity enable operationalization
  • Engaging with our client base on broad conversations linking in with Worley’s global strategy
  • Identifying customer needs and establish target areas for new business and opportunities
  • Developing and positioning solutions with our clients on identified opportunities prior to tendering and proposal stage, understanding competitiveness pressures, engaging with operations on preparing the right team for end game.
  • Leading and preparing the proposal, and working through post-submission engagements through to successful contract award
  • Capture a high percentage of the market share in this sector and geography
  • Extensive engagement with possible travel across South East Asian countries including Singapore, Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia and Brunei.
  • Build and leverage strong working relationships with key internal and external stakeholders
  • Be responsible and accountable for health of sales opportunity pipeline

  • Significant 15 -20 years work experience in the ECR sector
  • Project delivery experience would be beneficial.
  • You have a successful track record of closing a range of deals over the past 5 years with experience in selling EPC/EPCM solutions is preferable.
  • Qualification in engineering or project management is required. Training/ experience in areas commercial and contract management is required
  • Ability to demonstrate your active engagement in safety programs and recognition of importance of safety in the workplace and in the solutions delivered
  • Experience in utilisation of latest communication and sales platforms
  • Exceptional communication skills
  • Provide leadership and manage a geographically dispersed team
  • Willingness to be “hands on” and work closely within a matrix organisation, which includes:
  • Working closely with the Inside Sales Manager (team) to drive the proposals in end game, ensure key win themes are incorporated and work with legal, assurance and estimating/commercial teams for legal, contractual, risks and commercial/pricing benchmarking
  • Work closely with operations to align on the cost estimates and guide the management team on the profitability expectations
  • Proven ability to build relationships across different cultures, collaborative across various parts of the organisation
  • Highly experienced in front line customer communications and customer relationships
