Structured as a matrix organization of six geographical regions and ten platforms, Louis Dreyfus Company is active in over 100 countries and employs approximately 18,000 people globally.Job DescriptionAs an Operational Control Analyst for the SEA G&O Platform, your role is to be a key financial partner to the platform, and be primarily responsible for timely reporting, monitoring and analysis of the Business Results and Exposures in SEA G&O business which currently includes Trading, Marketing, Distribution activities primarily in Singapore, Malaysia, Vietnam, and Australia.You are required to understand the various trade flows, trading strategies and to produce commentary and margin analysis as and when required. You will be responsible for the monthly closing process and working closely with near-shore Accounting. You will also be involved in IT and Process Improvement/Efficiency projects, and play an important role from a business operations perspective, collaborating closely with multiple stakeholders such as Commercial team, Execution team, Finance team, IT team who may be stationed across different countries. You will actively contribute in areas such as Commercial Margin, Net Interest, Working Capital and Secondary Cost Analysis.Main Responsibilities:
  • Prepare, monitor and analyse the Trading Positions, Weekly P&Ls, FX Exposures, Cashflow Forecast for the SEA G&O businesses
  • Provide commentary and analysis on Desk/Platform performance
  • Keep abreast of business strategies, operations, and market news to be aware of risks on business results or misconducts
  • Prepare regular updates on landing for current FY and budget process for upcoming FY
  • Provide any ad-hoc analysis upon Platform/Region’s request to support business decision-making
  • Liaise with Near-shore Accounting team to ensure accurate month-end closing in accordance with internal deadlines and reporting requirements
  • Collaborate and communicate with stakeholders from other departments such as Commercial, Execution, Accounting, Finance and IT team
  • Propose/Champion/Participate/Collaborate with colleagues in other Departments in business process improvement initiatives or regional projects to align/streamline processes in line with LDC’s Trade to Cash Principles
Experiences:
  • 2-3 years of experiences in Product Control/Business Analysis/Management Accounting/Audit
  • Working knowledge of Financial Markets, in particular Commodity and Foreign Exchange Markets
  • Highly proficient with Microsoft Excel
  • Knowledge of SQL and PowerBI is a plus
  • Strong analytical skills with a keen eye for details
  • Good business sense with high level vision
  • Ability to identify/control weaknesses and implement process improvements
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, ability and willingness to interact effectively with all levels of employees & management
  • Ability to handle/ prioritize multiple responsibilities
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Independent self-starter who takes initiative, and has a proactive attitude toward problems and issues
  • Flexibility on working hours during periodic closings
Academics:
  • Degree in Business/Accounting/Economics or related field of study
