The primary function of this role requires conducting formative research and evidence synthesis, developing appropriate care tools, working with stakeholders to facilitate successful translation of data to practice on the ground, and developing and delivering quality clinical insights within HT. The role also requires the officer to work closely with other teams to ensure successful development and implementation of appropriate care tools or translation from clinical evidence to practice on the ground and provide evidence-based evaluation frameworks for service developments and planning.What you will be working on:1. Identify and synthesise clinical data and information from a range of technical sources (e.g., published literature (meta-analyses, research or review articles, clinical practice guidelines, national health surveys and international technical reports, drug utilisation statistics, epidemiological reports etc.). 2. Use quantitative or qualitative results to assist with the design of appropriate care interventions or pathways that can target behaviour change and improve clinical or cost outcomes. 3. Develop and maintain an Occupational Health (OH) Registry to monitor key OH Registry such as services injuries data, heat injury cases, cardiovascular events, hospitalisations etc. 4. Synthesise and develop educational content, safety protocols and workflow materials relating to trial processes and pilot deployments of HTD operational products/tools e.g., sprays for use against rioters, heat acclimatisation products. 5. Work with HTDs to develop and maintain Directory of Vocations that are aligned with fitness grading systems/ medical classification guidelines. 6. Providing on site clinical support for trials and pilots as requested by HTDs. 7. Provide medical support reviews, plans and protocols, including professional engagement with local medical community for overseas and local training. 8. Provide medical guidance on non-routine overseas immunization programme (such as Typhoid vaccination) and management of infectious diseases (such as Sexually Transmitted Infections like syphilis). 9. Establishing assessment standards for medical fitness and qualifications for accreditation with respect to specific courses and regularly conducting screening and review in-house e.g., In-situ Response Team (IRT) course, C-Conversion course, Dive Medic Technician accreditation course. 10. Assessing the relative fitness required for HTDs' unique activities and contacting trials for validation e.g., Police Contact Tactics (PCT) on top of mapping PES status to vocational requirements. 11. Maintain links with external academic, professional and clinical institutions to ensure currency of academic know-how and tools. 12. Promote the technical work of HTMSD to be recognised as clinical channel for promoting evidence based and cost-effective care in MHA. 13. Regular communication and cooperation with clinical analytics units in other government agencies and external stakeholders (e.g., Academy of Medicine, clinical experts).What we are looking for:
  • Singapore Medical Council (SMC) registered medical practitioner • Knowledge in health economics, public health, biostatistics or epidemiology, or related scientific field will be preferred • Experience working in any healthcare setting (hospital, polyclinic, clinic), with good knowledge of healthcare landscape and systems • Critical appraisal skills that can be applied to rigorous interpretation of guidelines and scientific studies • Resourceful, independent thinker, and takes initiative. • Able to work well in a team, positive attitude, manage timelines • Commitment to excellence in quality of research and outputs • Proficiency with technology and data management We wish to inform that only shortlisted candidates will be notified within 30 days upon closing of the advertisement.
