JOB SUMMARY

The purpose of the position is to lead Automation Strategy and Execution for specified product, process and end market Business Unit portfolio. The Senior Automation Engineering Manager drives team development of new automation equipment, work with sites to proliferate the equipment. Work includes managing flexibility and growth of Automation team (internal and external automation teams) to meet the business needs.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

· Developing and implementing a clear strategy and vision for automation initiatives, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and customer requirements.

· Developing an end market Automation Strategy to meet with the needs of the Business Unit product & process portfolio.

· Accountable for automation user requirement definition, supplier selection and delivery of a safe and capable asset to the required Jabil location.

· Fostering a culture of collaboration and mentorship within the engineering team, ensuring alignment with company goals and values.

· Partnering with senior leadership to influence and align cross-functional strategies, ensuring the delivery of impactful, scalable automation solutions.

· Defining and overseeing the execution of key milestones and deliverables within the automation roadmap, ensuring timely and effective implementation.

· Delivery of safe and capable assembly automation solutions for specific Business Unit customer base to Jabil Operations sites across multiple regions.

· Subject matter expert in the design and development of automated assembly and test systems.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS

· Understanding of complex assembly processes and manufacturing techniques

· Working hands on knowledge of Process Development and Process Characterization activities on assembly automation systems

· Knowledge and experience in engineering in a manufacturing environment

· Knowledge of DFAA for electromechanical assemblies

· Subject Matter Expert in applicable engineering theories, design principles and practices, and design evaluation techniques

· Proficiency in the use of personal computers, Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint), and e-mail skills required.

· SME knowledge of automation introduction process and deliverables to ensure safe and capable equipment delivery.

· Ability to lead virtual teams to achieve goals.

· Great communication skills and ability to influence across the organization.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

· Bachelor of Science in Manufacturing, Mechanical or Electronics/Electrical Engineering (or equivalent)

· At least 8 years of experience in automation requirement definition, equipment design reviews, process development and installation + qualification OR an equivalent combination of education, training, or experience.

· Significant automation supplier management and interaction with demonstrated delivery of complex assembly automation systems.
