NUS-ISS Digital Products and Platforms Practice is looking for dynamic and motivated individuals with industry expertise to teach product management capabilities and enable organisations to build better digital products.
We are looking for someone who enjoys the craft of making great products and examining product management best practices. Our ideal candidate is someone who has hands-on experience defining, delivering, and iterating digital platforms, and is not afraid to jump into the latest tools and frameworks. You should also be passionate about product-market fit, customer experience, agile collaboration, and lifelong learning.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, manage and teach professional and graduate courses in digital products, platforms, ecosystem and related areas.
- Facilitate an engaging, relevant, and collaborative classroom community with an empathetic and encouraging learner experience.
- Translate practical industry experience and expertise into capabilities development in the areas of Digital Product and Platform Development. Explore new areas of practice and pedagogy to improve learning outcomes for course participants.
- Participate in examinations and presentations; mentor and supervise students in their industry projects and internships to guide and ensure their learning journey.
- Explore and apply the use of new digital product, platform or ecosystem frameworks, methodologies, and tools through research, joint projects and consultancies with industry.
- Assist in business development, course marketing, student recruitment, and operational improvement initiatives as and when required.
- Engage with corporate stakeholders to understand training needs and contextualize curriculum as needed.
- Monitor product education landscape to ensure best-in-class course content and positioning.
- Demonstrate thought leadership in Digital Products and Platforms through participation in industry events and communities of practice, speaking at conferences, and contributing to the overall NUS-ISS organisation strategic direction.
Requirements:
- A good university degree (post-graduate preferred) in a technology or business related discipline, such as computer science, software engineering, information technology, business, finance, economics.
- Minimum of 8 years industry experience in the management, strategy formulation, design, or engineering of digital products, platforms, ecosystems.
- Product management experience with a record of successfully delivering high-impact, interactive products in direct collaboration with engineers and designers in an agile environment.
- Industry expertise in all stages of the product development cycle including product discovery, strategy, definition, and delivery; with strategic influence via stakeholder management and decision-making driven by data and customer insights.
- Experience in one or more of the following diverse environments a plus, to relate to our broad range of learners: Driving transformation initiatives within large enterprise/ Building complex platforms including multiple user types, internationalization, platform governance, and product operations / Product leadership at different phases of product maturity/ Partnership and collaboration models in digital business of platforms and ecosystems/ Community engagement, development and building of digital ecosystem.
- A good grasp of design thinking principles, customer experience best practices, and user research.
- Strong oral and written communication skills. Ease and comfort with presentation, facilitation, and interpersonal relationships.
- Strong critical thinking skills. Clear conceptual thinking and passion for organising and conveying information.
- Results-oriented, self-motivated and resourceful team player. High desire to stay at the leading edge of technology and to acquire new skills.
- Passion and interest in teaching adults from a diverse range of industries and helping them solve their individual challenges. Prior teaching experience for adult learners a plus.
