This role offers a unique combination of corporate and project development work, allowing for growth in a multifaceted environment. You will have first rate exposure to corporate transactions and greenfield projects in emerging and frontier markets around the world across numerous sectors including oil, gas, renewables, logistics, ports and terminals.This opportunity involves working directly under the supervision of , recognised by The Legal 500 five years running for his work. Working in close collaboration with the partner, this role also offers meaningful opportunity and scope for training, development, active involvement in business development and client facing activities.The wider team has a large number of dual qualified and local language speaking lawyers enabling the firm to work in an increasing number of jurisdictions throughout Southeast Asia and since the establishment of the Joint Legal Venture with Clasis LLC in 2013, we pride ourselves on being able to offer both Singapore and English legal advice.Candidates looking to establish their career and become an integral member of a growing team working across a combination of corporate and project development are encouraged to get in touch or apply directly.Candidate ProfileTo be considered for this position, candidates should possess a combination of the following attributes, experience and skills:
  • Common law qualified (admitted in Singapore, UK, Australia, NY) with between 1-3 years' post-qualification experience in corporate /commercial law
  • We are also open to applications from common law-qualified candidates currently living in other countries in Southeast Asia
  • Pragmatic and proactive mindset, taking initiative, anticipating challenges and actively seeking effective solutions
  • Experience with cross-border transactions and projects, including in emerging markets
  • Excellent legal writing and research/problem solving skills
  • Proven ability to work as part of a team and to build effective working relationships with clients, local counsel and colleagues
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Energetic and motivated with desire to work on matters in emerging markets across Southeast Asia and beyond
  • A willingness to relocate to Singapore for overseas candidates with some work-related travel
