- Provide strategic direction for TP's sports CCAs and Interest Groups and drive TP's continued sporting success and sustained excellence in Polytechnic-ITE (POL-ITE) and Institute-Varsity-Polytechnic (IVP) Games.
- Lead a team to develop, curate and organise poly-wide projects, events and initiatives in the area of Sports Excellence, Wellness and Education
- Oversee the recruitment of sports talents, through the pathways provided by the Early Admissions Exercise and Direct Admissions Exercise, to sustain the sporting excellence of TP sports teams.
- Represent the Polytechnic as a member of the POL-ITE and IVP Sports Council in improving the standards of tertiary sport among IHLs, the development and promotion of tertiary sport among the tertiary student population and community.
- Oversee the marketing efforts to create campus vibrancy and enhance the TP sports identity (under the Team Temasek brand).
- To be the key liaison with Government Agencies (e.g. Singapore Sports Institute, National Sport Association) and TP Academic Schools to offer academic flexibility and support for elite national athletes under the spexEducation partner agreement.
- Establish partnerships with relevant Government Agencies (e.g. ActiveSG, HPB) to develop a range of recreational sporting activities, projects and programmes for the TP community.
- Lead poly-wide and school-wide events or activities (e.g. Freshmen Orientation Programme, Temasek Regatta, EAE/DAE, TP Sports and Health Carnival, TP Cross Country and Community Games).
- Drive TP's IPPT participation and passing rates for the final-year NS-liable students.
- Contribute to TP's national education agenda and support MINDEF's ACCORD related initiatives to raise the awareness of and boost the support and recognition for NS among students and educators.
- Oversee the master planning and development of TP's Sports, Arts and Student Clubs facilities.
- Lead the team including outsourced vendors in the maintenance and operations of TP's Sports, Arts and Student Clubs facilities.
- Supervise and develop students through mentoring of students, student clubs, activities, projects and competitions.
- Lead the team in adopting best practices and knowledge of business processes to improve programmes and services e.g. procurement of coaches, instructors and/or vendors services
- Assist the Director of SDAA in department-wide strategic planning.
- Assist TP management in additional roles and responsibilities when required.
- Oversee initiatives within the sports & facilities management cluster to ensure good work-life balance for the team.
- Tertiary education with at least 5 years of relevant working experience with considerable knowledge and skills in the area of high-performance Sports Team Management, sports/arts facilities management and/or Event Management of various size and scale.
- Resourceful, analytical, meticulous, self-motivated, high learning agility and result-oriented individual with experience in competitive sports.
- Possess the ability to lead a team, think strategically and operationalise the department's workplans
- Excellent interpersonal, organisational and communication (written and spoken) skills.
- Nurturing in people development with coaching and mentoring skills
- Independent worker who requires little guidance in challenging situations, and is able to solve novel and complex issues on a regular basis.
- A team player with strong interpersonal and collaborative skills to work in cross-functional teams and with stakeholders
