Summary:

The Senior Network Engineer is responsible for maintaining, upgrading, and optimizing network infrastructure across offices, regional exchanges, collocation sites, and client connections. This role involves designing and deploying network and security solutions, translating business requirements into technical designs, and collaborating with central engineering teams to ensure solutions align with organizational standards. A strong focus on automation, scalability, and security is essential.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and upgrade network infrastructure, ensuring seamless connectivity with clients, regional exchanges, and collocation sites.
  • Design and deploy network and security solutions for LAN, WAN, and Data Center environments.
  • Translate business requirements into scalable, secure, and stable technical designs compliant with organizational standards.
  • Lead transformational projects across the APAC region.
  • Optimize and automate tooling for the network infrastructure team.
  • Collaborate with central engineering teams to implement technical solutions aligned with global infrastructure standards.
  • Gather business requirements, document technical solutions, and oversee their implementation in collaboration with relevant teams.
  • Provide technical documentation, including designs, configurations, and operational procedures.

Technical Competencies:

  • Advanced knowledge of network architecture design, implementation, and support.
  • Hands-on experience with deploying and managing network and security equipment, including Cisco routers, switches, and wireless infrastructure, DWDM Layer 1 systems.
  • Expertise in TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, IP multicast, QoS, VPC, VRF, spanning tree, Data Center setup, and Cisco ISE.
  • Proficiency in network monitoring and analysis tools such as Zabbix, SolarWinds, WireShark, SevOne, and CPacket.
  • Familiarity with market access networks across Asia-Pacific and experience in enhancing their performance.
  • Strong knowledge of ITIL framework and its application in operational processes.
  • Practical experience in project management, from initiation to closure, with proficiency in documentation and stakeholder communication.

  • Expertise in exchange connectivity and trading network infrastructure design, implementation, and support (CCIE certification is a significant advantage).
  • Proven track record in handling complex IT projects using PMI methodologies.
  • Client-oriented mindset with strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Experience in optimizing performance and scalability of network infrastructure for high-frequency trading environments.
