Job Description
The Assistant Head of Primary School is an innovative leader who empowers teams through the elements of The Nexus Way. They support the Head of Primary School in the pedagogical, strategic and operational leadership of the primary school. The Assistant Head of Primary School works with the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) including the Principal, Head of Secondary School, Head of Primary School, Head of Operations and other Deputy Heads of School. As part of the SLT, the Assistant Head of Primary School is an effective communicator and works collaboratively with all members of the community.

Job Description

Role And Responsibilities
- Leading teaching and learning in phases of the primary school
- Leading on curriculum development in phases of the primary school
- Leading and working with Year Leaders, Phase Leaders and Support Services Leaders
- Contributing to whole school strategic planning
- Supporting with recruitment of Nexus teachers
- Leading on professional learning
- Monitoring, tracking and reporting of academic progress
- Leading aspects of external accreditations including EduTrust, IB and CIS
- Working collaboratively on Vertical Alignment with the Secondary School
- Teaching classes as required
- Involvement in whole school events and activities as required.
- To perform any other duties as assigned
- A relevant degree plus teaching qualification (or equivalent)
- Higher degree or recognised professional qualification (preferred)
- Coaching accreditation (preferred)
- Evidence of continued relevant professional development
- Experience in an international school environment (preferred)
- Experience in a Primary School leadership role
- Experience with an inclusive approach to learning and working with diverse needs
- Relevant IB PYP curriculum experience
- Involvement in key whole school events and activities
