Summary: As a Senior Vessel Manager, you are responsible for the efficient operation of the ships assigned. You are a member of the Ship Management Team, and you will operate in accordance to the Company procedures and best ship management practices, whilst giving absolute regard to safety of life at sea and protection of the environment always. You are responsible for ensuring health and safety is adhered to at all times.

Reports to: Fleet Manager

Role and Responsibilities:

· Regular reports from assigned vessels are to be managed and filed in a structured and organized manner.

· Review and follow up on routine reports from the vessel.

· Carry out regular data analysis of costs, PMS and other KPI factors in order to ascertain health of the ship as far as ship management is concerned.

· Maintain structure and quality of data fed into Ship manager system by crew onboard the vessels (GL system).

· Formulate a dynamic work plan and action list with the vessel's command, to ensure that the vessel is maintained in accordance with the Owner's policy and to receive regular reports as to its progress.

· Visit the vessels as required and report on general condition, repairs and maintenance, crew performance, safety, environmental protection, and any actions required. Discuss with Ship's Command the work plan, running costs, spares and stores and other issues of concern and reporting on same,

· Prepare technical specs for dockings etc.

· Pre-purchase inspections in Asia region.

· Assist in carrying out technical analysis for new purchases.

· Undertake any other Technical related assignments as and when required assigned by Managing Director, Fleet Management.

Requirements:

Education & Knowledge

· Recognised marine engineering or naval architecture qualification either at sea or educational establishment

· Good understanding of shore-based activities and implications surrounding the role.

· Able to administer technical and budgetary requirements.

· Competent using Microsoft office and other computer software.

Working Experience

· Minimum 10 years of experience in similar capacity in container vessels (a mix of containers and tankers will be considered).

· Prior experience as Chief Engineer with minimum sailing experience preferably on container vessels. Otherwise, sailing experience on cargo ships (container/bulk carrier/tanker) is required.

· Prior experience in dry-docking.

· Candidate should have good knowledge of PMS and SMS system.

· Candidate with LNG/LPG/Dual Fuel experience will have added advantage.
