Job PurposeA sonographer is responsible for providing high quality ultrasound imaging service to patients in a prompt and professional manner.Duties and ResponsibilitiesPrimary Responsibilities and Duties
  • To perform clinical imaging duties in ultrasound.
  • To assist consultants in ultrasound guided procedures.
  • To oversee the smooth operations of the ultrasound section and ensure proper usage and care of equipment of the section at all times.
  • To ensure quality assurance programmes are implemented and observed as well as initiate system improvement within the section.
  • To deliver accurate and speedy imaging outputs at all times.
  • To produce desired results effectively within given duration and allocated resources.
  • To handle difficult situations like patients' complaints and queries within the department/ section promptly and effectively.
  • To render prompt and courteous service delivery to external and internal customers.
  • To ensure efficient patient turnaround time per examination.
  • To plan, organize and prioritize assigned tasks such that all are completed effectively and on time.
  • To adhere to safe work practices especially safety and infection control.
Job Specification/RequirementsQualification:
  • Diploma/Degree in Diagnostic Radiography / Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) or equivalent.
  • Accredited by recognized institutions/organizations e.g. Diploma/Degree in Medical Ultrasonography, Graduate diploma in medical Ultrasonography (DMU).
  • American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS).
Experience:
  • Minimum 2 years experience in clinical ultrasound.
