RPG undertakes the statutory functions in the rehabilitation of adult and youth offenders, and the protection of children and families. As part of the RPG family, Adult Protective Service (APS) undertakes statutory functions to protect vulnerable adults, oversees the National Family Violence Networking System and works with partners to ensure an effective protection system for individuals and families.What you will be working on:You will report to the Senior Manager of Adult Protective Intervention and be part of a dynamic team of case worker responsible for conducting statutory social investigation and implementing intervention to protect the safety and best interest of vulnerable adults under the Vulnerable Adults Act. As an Assistant Manager / Manager, you will: • Identify, investigate and respond to allegations of abuse, neglect and self-neglect. • Attend to enquiries, take on case supervision and service monitoring. • Work with partners to ensure coordinate case management and safety of Vulnerable Adults (VAs). • Carry out Statutory functions of protection of VAs (e.g. application of court orders and accompanying conditions). • Carry out onsite crisis intervention (e.g. stabilising crisis where the safety of VAs is compromised). • Manage cases of VAs which include conducting home and agency visits, engaging perpetrators and carers on case directions, developing reintegration plans, implementing case plans and conducting periodic review of cases. • Involve in development work to support the protection of VAs.What we are looking for:Functional/Technical Competencies: • Tertiary qualifications in Social Work or related field like Psychology or Sociology Behaviour Competencies: • Good interpersonal and communication skills • Ability to manage difficult and hostile clients • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment in the frontline Generic Competencies: • Passion in working with vulnerable populations • Proficiency in Chinese dialects, Malay or Tamil or Hindi preferred to liaise with clients • Prior experience in working with Vulnerable Adults, elderly, or protection work is an advantageAbout Ministry Of Social And Family Development:“We are Professionals with Passion for People” The Ministry of Social and Family Development (MSF) develops the “heartware” for Singapore through our policies, community infrastructure, programmes and services.
