Our client, a leading maritime company in Singapore, is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Vessel Performance Manager to join their dynamic team.
Reporting to the Operations Director, you will play a crucial role in enhancing operational efficiency and performance across their fleet.

Your new role

  • Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for vessel operations, including port productivity, crane utilisation, and idle time.
  • Drive bunker consumption optimisation initiatives, aligning with HQ strategies and promoting cost-conscious practices.
  • Enhance the quality and integrity of operational data, ensuring accurate reporting and analysis.
  • Collaborate with agents, ports, and terminals to expedite dispatch, reduce port costs, and optimise sailing speeds.
  • Identify and address vessel management gaps to maximise fuel efficiency and passage planning.
  • Analyse vessel reports, validate data, and monitor actual distances sailed to ensure optimal performance.
  • Conduct regular cost savings reviews and present findings to management.
  • Actively participate in post-fixture vessel operations, including off-hire and speed claims.
  • Monitor vessel routing and liaise with weather service providers.
  • Engage with vessel owners regarding performance improvement initiatives.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Bachelor's degree in Maritime Studies or a related field with at least 8 years of working experience
  • At least 2 years of experience in performance management within the maritime industry
  • Experience as a Master Mariner.
  • Strong understanding of container networks and their operational requirements.
  • Excellent analytical skills and a data-driven approach.
  • Self-motivated and proactive with a strong sense of ownership.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
